ICT DEPARTMENT
COMPUTER TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS
The main objective is that Roemichs children
should recognise the strength of technology. They should be able to collect information in
multiple formats and then organize, link and discover relationship between facts and events.
They must furthermore "use the various tools for
acquiring information, for thinking and expression which allows them more avenues to enter the
learning enterprise successfully and to live productive lives in the global digital and information based
future they all face", Computer skills, they are made to realize, are but mere building blocks with
which to meet the challenges of personal and professional life.
In support of these objectives, the ICT Suite
(Computer Lab) is tastefully and adequately furnished with modern computer systems of one
for each pupil, to utilise during practical sessions. As a way to further enhance the process of
teaching and learning, the Suite and the classrooms are provided with an animated projector,
which is connected to an interactive white board, via a computer system. All classrooms, the
library, the hostels and the general offices are furthermore provided with computer equipment,
printers, scanners and a projection system, networked together to provide sharing of files, and
data and information by all the relevant end users.
Through the ICT Unit, computer classes are
integrated with other subjects so that the pupils may learn to utilise their computer technology
skill proficiently to explore other realms of information and mastery of other core curricular subjects
such as, Reading, Mathematics Science and Writing. |
